This landmark television series celebrates the Royal Horticultural Society’s bicentenary. Two years in production, this series follows Diarmuid Gavin and Jane Owen as they create seven period gardens at the RHS gardens at Harlow Carr near Harrogate.
Following in the footsteps of the gardeners, designers and botanists of the last 200 years, the series profiles their work and shows how their ideas have influenced and shaped garden design today. In each of the seven programmes, a garden is created to represent a different period in the last 200 yearsl. While Diarmuid works in the gardens revealing the tricks of the trade from each time period, Jane Owen tours the country, exploring the trend setting gardens.
