1 in stock

A Region on the Move starts with rare footage from the early years of the 20th century, showing life in the busy city centres of Leeds, York and Bradford, then traces the rise and demise of the electric tram, our growing concerns with road safety, and the building of the M62 motorway as the car established its dominance in our lives. Includes footage of Amy Johnson’s return to Hull in 1930 afer the record breaking flight from England to Australia. A 1960’s film promoting driving lessons for women and the official opening of the North York Moors Railway showing the Duchess of Kent travelling on the old steam train.
